Below are the merchant categories that cannot be paid with a Tuckpay card. The list is based on payment-system rules and issuing-bank requirements.

The list is not exhaustive: if you are unsure about a specific payment, ask support before paying.

2. Quasi-cash transactions

Transactions where a payment effectively turns into cash or a cash equivalent.

What this covers

  • Buying crypto, topping up other cards and wallets, traveller's cheques, transfers to an account.

3. Investment platforms

Services that accept a payment as a deposit to an investment or trading account.

What this covers

  • Brokers, forex, binary options, derivative trading platforms.

4. Gambling and betting

Games and betting for money, including account top-ups.

What this covers

  • Casinos, bookmakers, lotteries, poker rooms, wagering balances.

5. Adult content and escort

Payments for adult content and services.

What this covers

  • Adult sites, webcam services, escort agencies, dating services with paid meetings.

6. High-risk merchants

Merchants classified by payment systems as high risk for fraud or chargebacks.

What this covers

  • Dubious subscriptions, get-rich-quick schemes, services with opaque refund terms.

7. Jewelry and precious metals

Purchases of valuables that are easy to resell for cash.

What this covers

  • Jewellery stores, bullion, investment coins, precious stones.

8. Government procurement

Payments to government bodies and within public procurement.

  • Taxes, duties, court fees, bail, tender deposits.
